After-School Program for Grades K-5

This exciting new program for elementary age children starts Wednesday, September 10, 2008. What is the after school program all about? Children grades K-5 will be picked up after school around 3:00pm and brought to the church. The Church van and several personal vans are scheduled to pick up at Watauga and Abingdon Elementary schools. Other schools can be included as the need arises. Speak to Janet McGraw if your child attends a different Washington County School. Following the children’s arrival at the church, they will be provided with a snack. At 3:30, children will participate in a hands-on program allowing them to experience different aspect of Biblical truths. The program will stress building a servant’s heart in the children, involving them in different mission projects from helping around the church and our congregation members, reaching into the community and participating in worldwide projects.

At 4:15 Children grades 3-5 will meet with Arch Snyder for Music Ringer practice. At 4:30 children 5- grade 2 will meet with Arch Snyder for Music Makers practice. The after -school program will conclude at 5:00 at which time parents will pick up their children at the church. If it is impossible to pick up a child at 5:00pm, special arrangements can be made ahead of time with Janet McGraw and remaining children will participate in a supervised quiet homework time in the fellowship hall.
