Through
weekly worship, the proclamation of the Word, opportunities for Christian
education, service to the church and to the community, and active Christian
fellowship, the congregation of Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church seeks
to learn and to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. The Ministry
of Music seeks to enhance these weekly opportunities by joining together,
in Christian song, those words and music that repeat the message of salvation
and proclaim God's word.
Our
congregation worships on Sunday morning at 8:45 and 11:00 a.m.
Additional opportunities for worship - Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday,
Palm Sunday, Easter Sunrise, and Christmas Eve take place each year.

Adult
Handbell Ensemble - (High school through adult) This group is our five
octave hand bell choir. Initial entry into this ensemble may be on
a substitute ringer basis until a more permanent spot becomes available.
While it is not required, it is most helpful if one has some prior musical
knowledge, especially when it comes to reading music. Always ready for
a challenge, this group enjoys ringing the great classic hymns of the church,
as well as some of the more modern works of recent years. This
Adult Handbell Ensemble rehearses on Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 (please call
the church office to confirm this is correct). Typically this group rings
for worship approximately every six weeks, as well as for Christmas Eve.
-
Music
Makers - This is our children's vocal ensemble. (preschool through
2nd grade) This group sings a variety of music ranging from simple
children's songs to two-part choral literature. A Children's Musical is
rehearsed and presented, usually at Christmas time, on an every other year
basis. Weekly rehearsals take place on Wednesday afternoon from 4:30-5:00.
-
Music
Ringers - (3rd - 5th grades) Begun in 2003, this group is a children's
three octave hand bell ensemble. The children learn the fundamentals
of ensemble bell ringing as well as selections from some of the easier
Level One repertoire. It is not necessary for the children to be fully
able to read music to participate. Presently, this group rehearses
on Wednesdays from 4:15 to 5:00.
