Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church Preschool
A ministry of Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church
Director: Mrs. Gypsy Holt

As on of the SSPC's Preschool's Community at Large service projects, money was raised by research and care services offered by St. Jude Children's Hospital.  On Wed. Oct. 11, 2007 at 11:00 the children participated in a trike-athon.  Trikes, strollers, and other riding toys plus parents went round and round.  It was a wonderful sight to see these healthy children helping their far away friends.  The Honorable Delegate Joe Johnson was the official starter for the Trikeathon.  Over $2,300 was raised.  Thanks to all organizers, participants, and donors.

On your mark, get ready, get set, Go!

Preschool brightens the church with its cheery atmosphere that also doubles as the Sunday nursery.  The preschool projects are also in the hall.

We would like to welcome you and your family to Sinking Spring Preschool . We are glad to have you here, and look forward to working together.

The purpose of Sinking Spring Preschool is for each child to develop socially, emotionally, physically, and mentally through appropriate activities offered in a nurturing environment.  We strive to instill a love of learning and encourage a natural curiosity in each child about his surrounding environment.

 Facilities

Sinking Spring Preschool  is located on the first floor of  the church.  The classrooms are equipped with furnishings and materials appropriate to the ages of the children.  Occasionally, the downstairs fellowship area is used.  Each room has direct access to a fenced-in playground, off-street parking, and restroom facilities.  Sinking Spring Preschool  has been granted a religiously exempt status from the State of Virginia.

Staff

Each staff member is qualified by education and/or experience to work with young children in a group setting.  Each must demonstrate a genuine love of children and concern for their growth and development.  Teachers are encouraged to attend early childhood conferences, seminars, and courses.  Inservice training is held monthly and 3 days before the school session starts.  Each staff member will be certified annually by a practicing physician to be free from any disability which would prevent them from caring for children.
