Pastor
Pastor Tim Reynolds

Tim has served as the pastor of SSPC since June 2011. Tim grew up in Gallatin, TN and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Tennessee in 1989. (He is a lifelong die-hard Vol fan!) After careers in the entertainment and hospitality industries, Tim graduated with a Masters of Divinity from Columbia Theological Seminary in 1998. He is currently working on his doctoral dissertation for a Doctor of Ministry degree in Missional Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary.
Tim has served churches in Columbus, GA; Carrollton, GA; Hendersonville, TN; and Sarasota, FL. His passion for individuals is seeing people engage their faith in new ways, walking alongside of them as they discover how God’s grace in Christ Jesus has been working their lives, and helping them to discover how they can join God’s work in the world. His passion for the church is helping communities of faith discover their unique “sentness” in the world as they answer God’s call to be a light to the world.
Tim is the husband of Tuesday Reynolds, a native of Blountville, TN, and they have two children together. When not spending time with his family, church folks, or working in the community of Abingdon, he enjoys playing golf, reading, playing golf, riding his bike, playing golf, hiking, watching golf on television, and playing golf.
Director of Christian Education
Janet McGraw

Janet McGraw became the Director of Christian Education in the fall of 1996. Her husband is Dean. Their three children are Joseph, Angela, and Nathan. They have two grandchildren. Janet is an inspiration to everyone who meets her. She often delivers the children's message during the worship service. She says, "God has blessed me with a talent for creativity. I'm thankful I am able to use it to serve Him and bring glory to his name." Her favorite Bible passage is Psalms: 23.

Janie Snyder

Born the daughter of a Disciples of Christ (First Christian) minister, I have seen a few parts of the country, north to south, in my time. I’ve lived in Vincennes, Indiana; Sikeston, Missouri; Blytheville, Arkansas; Humboldt, Tennessee and Vicksburg, Mississippi under my parents’ roof. I attended Hinds Jr. College in Raymond, Mississippi and the University of Mississippi in Oxford, where I proudly claim being a year behind Archie Manning, father of Peyton and Eli. It has been so much fun following them in the pros. I am a football freak! A music major, I wanted to be a band director, but I married and had my family before I finished. That’s okay! I was much too shy to lead high school kids! I was a medical secretary for 35 years, ending in 1999. I ‘retired’ from that when Arch retired from 42 years of teaching, simply because I couldn’t stand the thought of me having to work while he wasn’t! After 2 years of being mellow, I worked for Westminster Communities of Florida in resident services for the independent living and, later, CPA Associates in Bradenton, Florida. I have just enjoyed moving to the mountains to no end. We have been here over 2 years, now, and I don’t ever regret the move, although it took us from some family and friends. Arch and I celebrate our 2 year anniversary with you on April 20. There is always change in this part of the country, and I love it. I quit praying for snow this year, so it would go away. I felt by the sign on Highway 19 that they knew it was me. Sorry about that! Arch and I together have 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 2 with 1 on the way in May great grandchildren. We have kids spread from Florida to North Carolina to Georgia to Arizona. I am enjoying my position as part time office manager. It is a busy part time position, and I have to sometimes sit back and put my eggs in a row to get the job done. I have to admit, I may get frazzled at Christmas and Easter, combining my office position with the music. The director drives a hard bargain!! But, we make it through. I try to serve the office and the people as best I can. Thank you for allowing me to be of service to SSPC. You have been so supportive. I look forward to growing in the Spirit.

Arch Snyder
Choir Director and Adult Handbell Choir Director

Janie and I are eagerly and with great excitement looking forward to serving the music ministry of Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church. Having been in Church music for several years, we have never been able to visit other churches. Our intention, upon arrival in Abingdon, was to visit many churches. We came to Sinking Spring on our first Sunday and you, the membership, gave us such a warm welcome, we never went to another church!
There is a wealth of beautifully arranged and composed music, which appropriately fits many different seasons of the church calendar. The choir will sing an anthem written for Communion on the first Sunday in May. On May 11, we will sing a lovely anthem honoring our mothers, and handbell choir will play. On May 25 Memorial Day Sunday, we will sing an anthem depicting our loved ones who have gone on before us, as they tell us that, "Every word has now been proven! All we knew and even more." During the seasons of Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Advent, Christmas and beyond, appropriate selections will be sung through all this; we will continue to sing the great traditional classics of church literature.
If you have ever been in, or considered being in the choir, now would be a wonderful time to join us. Please see me, or just show up for choir rehearsal on Wednesdays at 7:30pm in the sanctuary.
Again, Janie and I do look so forward to getting to know you and serving with you.
In His Name,
Arch and Janie Snyder

Archie and Janie come to us from The First Presbyterian Church of Bradenton, Florida. Arch was the Director of Music. He adirected the Adult Choir, Praise Team, and 3-octave Handbell/Chime Choir. He was also the Director of the Bay Chorale, a community choir, in Bradenton. In the past he has also been a high school band director and high school orchestra conductor.
Over the past month, SSPC has been blessed to have Arch Snyder as our new chancel choir and adult handbell director and Janie as our new organist/pianist. In addition to these ministries, they are now in leadership positions as “Co-Directors of Praise Team and Youth Handbell Choir,” In their previous church, Arch and Janie led the contemporary worship services for seven years. We welcome them to these new ministry areas!
Sinking Spring Presbyterian Church warmly welcomes the Snyders to our Church.
